My Approach to Helping
My name is Lauren Fawley, and I am a licensed professional counselor with a Master's degree in community counseling. I have been a counselor for over 10 years, with extensive experience practicing both online and in-person. My experience comes from working with adults facing general mental health and adjustment concerns, addiction, and various relational issues. I've had the opportunity to work with people in the short term, for instance, to support them through a major life event or difficult relationship situation. I've also worked with people in the long term to help manage and recover from depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, trauma, and abuse. I strongly believe in every person's potential to grow and change for the better, whatever that may look like for you! Our therapy will be directed by you, meaning we will work together to address your unique and specific needs. I am trained in motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. If you have never heard of any of that, please know that all you need to know when entering into therapy is that you will be treated with respect and that what you say will be kept confidential. I am really grateful that I get to listen to people's stories for a living; above all, I will work to understand and empower you! I sincerely hope to hear from you.
