My Approach to Helping
My work with clients is based on the value of relationships and building resiliency. My first priority as a clinician is to help clients feel safe, because only then will they be able to do the work that leads to meaningful, long-term change. I use a compassionate and very collaborative approach to facilitate curiosity rather than judgment. It is not my goal to change my clients; My hope is to help them shift their relationships with themselves in order to feel less shame, feel more powerful, and have more meaningful connections with others. It is my job to “hold the space,” so my clients can explore who they are, how they feel, and what they need.
It can be difficult and confusing knowing which therapist is a good fit for you. It is also the most important part of the process, as I believe the quality of the client-therapist relationship is most indicative of whether a client will progress towards his or her personal goals. I offer a free 20 minute consult to see if we are a good fit.
