My Approach to Helping

Life is full of wonder and excitement, but life can also present us with challenges either past or present that can cause us to feel stuck or broken. I am here to support my clients in uncovering their true selves and getting back to that wonder and excitement life can offer. Whether you are struggling with life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, or looking to further expand your consciousness, I am here to support you on your journey.

What brought me to being a psychotherapist was my own self-exploration that allowed me to explore myself, my mind body connection, and the influences around me. With this continued exploration I decided I want to support others in their own journeys. With a focus in holistic and somatic therapy using a trauma informed orientation, I support clients with the understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection and how that influences our mental health and how we can use that to support our growth. Life can affect us in many different ways and as your counsellor I am here to explore this with you in order to support your well-being, lower your stress and reduce trauma responses.

More Info About My Practice

Professional Background

I am a Registered Qualifying Psychotherapist intern with CRPO providing individual psychotherapy for adults that would like to explore a more holistic approach to psychotherapy that examines the mind-body-spirit connection to work through negativity and trauma and towards a life that brings them joy. I have worked in the mental health field since 2017 and am excited to provide support for my clients in this role. I have training in harm reduction, cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, mindfulness, meditation, trauma therapy techniques such as somatic experiencing, psychoeducation, Gestalt techniques, strengths based approaches, psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic-phenomenological approaches. I have previous education in disability studies and mad studies which gives me knowledge in a new age of mental health care that steers away from the medical model and trying to ‘fix’ clients to fit into the norms of society and instead leans towards supporting clients in finding their true selves and making way for a space for themselves that provides them with the safety they need to flourish. My previous education also taught me about intersectionality which is the study of the interconnected nature of social categories including race, gender, etc. This allows me to use an intersectional lens to more personalize and support clients from various backgrounds. Overall, I am here to support you in reaching your therapeutic goals, using whatever tools we may see fit throughout the journey. Feel free to contact me at anytime to further discuss how I can support you on your journey.
