My Approach to Helping
Hi there! My name is Leah, and I realize choosing a therapist can seem overwhelming. A lot of my friends have complained about this to me, but it shouldn’t be an anxiety inducing experience. One of the most important things to consider in a therapist is the therapeutic relationship. Research shows that the relationship with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy. I treat the therapeutic relationship with great care because I know the importance of it.
In terms of treatment styles, I use a combination of several different types depending on the client in order to give a personalized experience. My mission in sessions is to uncover issues that are causing you distress and then challenge you and inspire you to take control of your future. I use a tactic I’ve named compassionate confrontation. I am a therapist who will push you and challenge you to have difficult conversations, to look in the mirror, and to make decisions that may not be easy. I will always make these challenges with the utmost respect and compassion for my clients, but life isn’t easy so sometimes therapy won’t be either. That is where the relationship comes in though because we will be having those tough talks together, side by side, and you won’t be alone. Please give me a call and see if this is a relationship that works for you so we can start working on getting you to where you want to be.
