My Approach to Helping
Finding the right therapist can be a challenging task. Each practitioner offers different styles and theoretical approaches to assist you in reaching your goals. Congratulations, you have taken the first step and hopefully you will be able to determine if I am the right therapist to help you.
One of the most important aspects of the therapy process is connecting with your therapist and feeling safe in the relationship. There are many ways a therapist can create this environment, but the best therapy style is the one that works best for you. My psychotherapeutic approach in working with clients is strength-based and solution-oriented. I work closely with you, collaborating and building a personal connection while supporting your strengths and highlighting areas of growth. I also ask clients to look for strengths in their support system and church communities and encourage them to enlist support from family members, friends, pastors, health practitioners, and teachers.
As a family therapist, I have worked with many families and individuals with a variety of concerns. The adults, couples, adolescents, and children that I work with are usually experiencing some level of discomfort or pain in their current situation. As we partner together to discuss what underlies this pain, I can help to increase coping skills and reduce symptoms and offer hope for finding a course of treatment for lasting change.
I invite you to take a look around my website and learn more about my professional background and practice. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an initial consult session, please call or email me.
I look forward to talking with you.
