My Approach to Helping
If you are looking for supportive, private place where you'll feel understood and heard, and if you seek a relationship of trust to nurture the change process, please know I believe in the importance of these things too.
Together we can build a strong alliance, using the research-backed methods of mindfulness, emotionally focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to help you manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Where relevant, I may offer you information about genetics and biology, human development, and environmental and social interactions to help you or your family understand yourself in deeper ways.
More Info About My Practice
I believe that there are at least as many solutions to a problem as there are problems. I help you identify your strengths, then show you how to use those strengths to nurture stronger relationships and a more satisfying life.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
My role as a therapist is to understand you and the issues that brought you to my office. Once we understand where the stumbling blocks are that prevent you from having the life you want, and identify your strengths, my role is to hold the light and point the way to better feelings and understandings and behaviors necessary to build better relationships and reach your life goals. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help especially if you've reached out before and not received the help you needed. Don't give up. Finding the right therapist for you is a great gift you can give yourself and the first step in turning toward a happier future. Be well!
