My Approach to Helping

I firmly believe that you are the foremost expert on your life. Together, we can work towards reaching your goals. Many of my clients have experienced a reduction in anxiety, an increase in self-confidence and the capacity to form emotionally intimate relationships.

I serve as an active faculty member at The Catholic University of America and at the Washington School of Psychiatry. These teaching opportunities help me learn the latest findings in effective therapy.

Your life and time is valuable. Therefore, in a partnership with my clients, I work hard to rapidly reach goals. I use a number of evidence-based modalities including cognitive therapy, mindfulness techniques, short-term psychodynamic treatment, and neuroscience. I always tailor the treatment for each individual.

My style is active and focused in the current moment. I invite you to visit my website for more details.

More Info About My Practice

For over 20 years, I have taught yoga and Mindfulness classes to help people reduce anxiety, feel grounded, calm, and safe in their bodies. During this challenging time, I am glad I can offer these tools to my clients to help them cope and manage.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I value the sensitive concerns around confidentiality particularly in our Washington D.C area. I have experience working with clients in the public and private sector and my clients have confidence in the great care I provide for their concerns and treatment.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

To help with immediate stress relief: I can provide single or short-term consultation sessions.
For therapy: When clients first speak with me, they often ask about the length and frequency of my work. I have learned over the years not to quote a specific time frame because we may finish before or after the predicted time. Instead, I practice in an evidence-based model and therefore continuously assess the work to ensure we are making progress. Once my clients have reached their goals, then we are able to end our work with a mutually strong level of satisfaction.
