My Approach to Helping
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I am a licensed clinical social worker, certified special education teacher, and school counselor. My counseling approach is based on my philosophy that people wish to flourish and be as happy and healthy as possible. I believe that we all need help and support from time to time. Most of my work relies heavily on Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused Therapy. These methods are reliable and the most effective treatment methods for most moderate difficulties people face. I also believe these approaches respect most individuals' desire to get help but not spend an excessive amount of time in treatment. These approaches also support my philosophy that most of us have the ability to cope with great difficulties with some support and guidance.
