My Approach to Helping
I'm Lindsay Fernandez, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Grief Educator based in New York, dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complex journey of grief and life transitions. My approach is deeply rooted in personal experience and professional expertise, offering a unique blend of empathy and evidence-based support.
Having lost my mother unexpectedly in 2011 and growing up with a parent who faced mental health challenges, I understand firsthand the multifaceted nature of grief. This experience inspired me to write "A Lifetime with Death," a memoir that explores the intricacies of loss and healing.
With over 8 years of counseling experience, I specialize in guiding individuals learn to navigate their grief journey related to life transitions, loss of a loved one, New Parenthood and Postpartum Support, Caregiver Stress, Relationship Changes, Career Transitions, & Empty Nest Syndrome. My holistic approach helps clients understand their unique journey, explore their emotions, and develop personalized coping strategies.
Together, we'll work to:
-Identify and process emotions related to the challenges & losses you are experiencing
-Develop coping strategies for stress and uncertainty
-Explore opportunities for growth within times of loss & change
-Build resilience for future transitions
-Find new meaning in your evolving life story
Remember, it's normal to feel overwhelmed during times of loss and change. But you don't have to go through it alone. Together we can turn your life transition into an opportunity for growth, healing, and redefining your sense of self.
