My Approach to Helping
I have worked in a variety of mental health settings and roles over the last 10 years, from working as a counselor at an acute crisis facility, to serving as a case manager for transitional aged youth, to managing a school therapy program, to working as a therapist in a community clinic. However, one thing has always stayed the same - I love meeting people where they are at in their lives, and helping them help themselves reach a greater sense of mental health and wellness. I am a Person Centered therapist , but pull from a variety of techniques and treatment modalities, to tailor my interventions to each individual and specific circumstance. I specialize in working with teens, but working with adults and couples is also a large part of my practice that I find incredibly fulfilling. I have successfully helped many clients of all ages improve their relationships, manage stress, reduce anxiety, and decrease feelings of sadness and depression.
I focus on building strong connections with the people I work with, as I feel that much is gained from the warmth, empathy, and compassion provided in the therapeutic relationship. I work within a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive framework, and am an LGBTQ+ ally. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you!
