My Approach to Helping
Hi, I'm Lisa, with Personal Growth Counseling. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) with the state of Florida. I have two Master's Degrees in the field of Psychology, both from the University of South Florida and over 20 years of experience working with clients as a BCBA. I work with clients 18 and older. I specialize in working with people who have anxiety, depression, bipolar, adjustment issues, suicidal ideations, autism, and ADHD. I offer autism-specific counseling to autistic teenagers and adults. I have experience in individual therapy and group therapy. I've worked in residential, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization. I use a humanistic, person-centered approach as the foundation of my practice, then integrate different modalities of therapy that best suits you. Some approaches that I use are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, narrative therapy, and positive psychology.
I offer a nonjudgmental and supportive space, so you feel comfortable and ready to heal and grow. I'm here to help you find your way through a rough time or to help you make that change you've always thought about. I truly believe we are all on a journey and when it gets tough, you don't have to do it alone. Let's meet and we'll make a plan together. My goal is to see a lifting of your symptoms within the first month.
