My Approach to Helping
My view on the nature of people is that individuals are the ultimate agents of self-change for their lives and are essentially trustworthy. I hold a strong view of unconditional positive regard for consumers and uphold traits like congruency, nonjudgment and honesty. I practice a Person-Center approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with adolescents and adults (12 years old and up) individually as well as families and groups. My treatment areas include Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Family Therapy, MilitaryVeterans, and more.
I obtained my Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Oregon University, and also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health disorders. I have 9+ years of experience working in various counseling settings such as individual counseling, child and family therapy, psychiatric crisis services, vocational rehabilitation, and school counseling. I have also worked as a pre-commitment investigator.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family, the outdoors, and caring for my animals.
