My Approach to Helping
I believe that good therapy can be lifesaving. This is not hyperbole or exaggeration. When people feel depressed, sad, anxious and hopeless, they often feel immensely desperate and alone. By the time they reach out for help, they usually have been struggling for a long time, sometimes years. They may have dulled their pain with food, work or chemicals, but the void remains. Sometimes folks have tried to talk with family or friends about their distress, but have been met with worry, dismissiveness or told to "just buck up and deal with it."
