My Approach to Helping
My approach to working with patients focuses on empowerment, collaboration, and the enhancement of strengths and resilience. As a health psychologist by training, I incorporate a deep understanding of the mind-body connection in my work. I have the privilege of assisting my clients on their journey of self-discovery, which I consider both an honor and a profoundly satisfying vocation.
More Info About My Practice
In addition to therapy, my practice focuses on providing high-quality comprehensive psychological testing that is impactful and life-enhancing for ages 16+. ADHD and autism presentations in women, BIPOC, and previously undiagnosed mid-life adults are a specialty. I conduct neurodiversity-affirming and culturally-sensitive evaluations that are used for 1) educational and work accommodations 2) access to disability and vocational supports, and 3) making sense of difficult differential diagnoses to enhance your self-understanding. Many people benefit greatly by understanding their previously undiagnosed neurodiversity; however, overlapping symptoms with other mental health problems make diagnostic expertise crucial. I combine my years of experience across varied healthcare settings with up-to-date training and consultation in assessment to keep my skills relevant and sharp.
The psychological testing process is a commitment to self-understanding and can be rather involved. I use a transparent and educational process so you know what we're doing and why. I provide a written report that you (and your medical provider or therapist) can understand and a feedback session to discuss results and offer constructive recommendations.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I am present to witness and assist people who are making amazing changes in their thinking, behavior and relationships. I have 16 years of experience post-licensure and over 25 years in the mental health field and it's never been mundane or not meaningful to participate in this process.
