My Approach to Helping
My approach is strength based, collaborative and empowering. Through our work together you will gain insight into yourself and your relationships, and you will feel supported as you try to grow into the person you want to be.
As a psychologist and art therapist I have devoted 30 years to supporting the wellbeing of others. I look forward to getting to know your unique story and walking with you on your path to a more fulfilled life.
My Therapy Focus
My main therapy focus is to support you in your journey toward greater emotional balance, psychological wellbeing and connection with the people in your life.
Talk therapy: The process of making sense of our lived experiences is central to psychological wellbeing. From the first day of life of a newborn to the fading days of consciousness in old age, the mind attempts to make sense of what happens in and around us whether we are aware of that happening or not. I am here to help you make sense of your experience and validate feelings and emotions that you are learning to express.
Art therapy: Creative expression can break down defenses and release deep understanding of emotional pain and internal conflicts. Art therapy does not require any artistic abilities, only an open mind. Making images taps into the unconscious mind and implicit relational memory. Healing unfolds right in front of your eyes. I am here to help you to get connected to your greater wisdom inside.
Dream tending: Fantasies and images that arise in our mind can enrich and deepen our connection with ourselves and important people in our lives. Our dreams are foreign to many of us, but they never fail to surprise if we make a space for them. Often they hide upon our waking. If they feel welcome, they linger, and give us the opportunity to befriend them. I will help you to get connected to the rich potentials inside and the people around you.
