My Approach to Helping
When clients contact me, they often feel depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Life has gotten "so bad" or uncomfortable that they reach out for support and understanding. We come into this world with an innate sense of self and self-worth. Unfortunately, life events, relationships, etc., sometimes cloud that sense. I help clients get it back.
We begin by defining your goals for therapy. What do you want for yourself and your relationships with others? Together, we will explore the thoughts, feelings, and origins of your distress, while at the same time generating practical coping skills to employ outside of the therapy room. My therapeutic methods incorporate depth psychology, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral techniques. You will take me on a journey through your life and your thoughts, and we will explore it together.
