My Approach to Helping
I believe that every person is capable of living a fulfilling and meaningful life. Sometimes this can be very challenging, as life does not always come easy. Life throws us curveballs that disrupt our abilities to effectively deal with issues that arise.
I will guide and support you as you learn about and explore which life experiences and current stressors contribute to your unease. I will teach you better ways of coping and help you to discover a life better than what it is now. Therapy is a collaborative effort and each treatment plan is tailored to meet the needs and goals of the individual.
More Info About My Practice
I have over 15 years of experience working with men, women, girls, boys, couples, and families. I have worked in a residential treatment facility, for an autism agency, and now work in private practice. While most people choose to come to my office for sessions, others prefer to do sessions over the phone or Skype. It is very special for me to witness and be a part of the amazing transformations that happen in therapy. If you are looking to become the best version of yourself, I will guide and support you on your journey.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Over the years I have treated all types of Depression, Anxiety (including OCD, Panic disorder, and Agoraphobia), Trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, as these are my specialty areas. Skills such as deep breathing, muscle relaxation, journaling, mindfulness, and emotional expression are just a few common tools that I will give you to help alleviate symptoms and find emotional or psychological relief. I also work with individuals with anger management issues, low self-esteem, poor or limited communication skills, relationship problems, and struggles with addiction. Finally, I am trained and qualified to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing).
