My Approach to Helping

Every person and relationship are uniquely different, which I deeply respect and appreciate. Our sessions will allow you to explore your own personal path to understanding and resolving your challenges while building new skills, perhaps shifting some of your perspectives, and making positive lasting changes. Conversations in therapy are intensely personal, and solid rapport and trust are essential components in a successful client-therapist relationship. Feeling comfortable with your therapist and having confidence in their expertise is vitally important. I believe that building strong, unbiased relationships with my clients through unconditional acceptance in an affirming space allows them to gently explore and challenge unhelpful patterns with confidence and thoughtfulness. Living a joyful and satisfying life as a self-actualized and authentic person requires self-reflection and ongoing efforts. These are investments in yourself that you deserve. Therapy can support you on this path.
I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology with training in the US, UK, and Germany. I have 15+ years of experience working with individuals and couples of very diverse backgrounds using tailored methods to help people feel better fast. My style is engaging, direct, warm, and humorous at times. I will customize psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and psycho-educational approaches to fit your specific therapy needs rather than applying a generic approach. Together we will address any overwhelming or unmanageable thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. I can help you better understand and accept yourself and adjust what you would like to see changed. You can expect active collaboration, some homework between sessions, and ongoing focus on progress towards the goals you identify for yourself. I will support you through every aspect of this process.
