My Approach to Helping
My name is Marie Cadet Lic # CSW006185. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, marriage, and divorce. I have also helped many others dealing with issues such as physical trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe we all have the inner tool to heal ourselves. My most common theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Gotten Method, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy
I typically work with a variety of clients, adults, seniors, men, women, young and young adults. My therapeutic room is one where clients feel respected, supported, and empowered to be their best. I have always had a passion to help people as well as a need to see them at their flourish. I began counseling individuals in my community before returning for my master's degree and working towards my clinical license.
I look at goal setting as a roadmap to better health. I work collaboratively with clients to develop goals that are attainable. The first session is about getting to know each other and developing rapport. We begin by discussing the goals for the sessions. I also encourage people to ask questions regarding the sessions.
