My Approach to Helping
Adolescence can be complicated — therapy shouldn't be. I'm a licensed psychologist exclusively providing adolescent therapy in my private practice in Walnut Creek, California. I strive to help teens feel heard, supported, and empowered to manage the stress, emotions, and mental health challenges they are facing, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, ADHD, and academic pressure among other adolescents.
I believe adolescents already have the strengths they need — therapy is about activating them. Together, we focus on building real-world coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and creating meaningful change. I also work closely with caregivers and school teams when needed, ensuring the teen’s support system is aligned
More Info About My Practice
At INLIGHT Psychological Services, I provide private-pay therapy exclusively for adolescents. My practice is built around the idea that teens deserve specialized, thoughtful care tailored to the unique challenges of this stage in life.
Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, ADHD, perfectionism, or academic and social pressures, I offer practical, evidence-based support that meets them where they are. I use proven methods like cognitive
behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and solution-focused techniques adapted for adolescent needs.
Therapy is a collaborative process. I center the teen in every session while also offering guidance to caregivers and school professionals as requested and when appropriate. I understand how powerful it is when the systems around a teen reinforce the progress they’re making in therapy.
My work is deeply informed by over 15 years of experience with adolescents across clinical and school-based settings, as well as by national leadership in the areas of suicide prevention and self-injury. I’ve presented at major conferences, trained other mental health professionals, and consulted with organizations on adolescent mental health and crisis response.
Above all, I offer teens a space where they are truly heard, a space to feel empowered, build emotional strength, and move forward with more confidence and clarity.
