My Approach to Helping

TELEHEALTH ONLY AT THIS TIME.

My practice is dedicated to the psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being of my clients. Treatment is tailored to the needs of the client. Culture, religiousspiritual beliefs, and family structure are taken into consideration. Evidence- based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) (please note that I am not a DBT Therapist), Mindfulness- Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Unified Protocol, and Expressive Arts Therapy, are utilized to help instigate change and transformation. Traditional talk therapy and Jungian therapy is applied as well.

I am also in the process of completing EMDR certification through the EMDRIA. Level 1 IFS training will also be done starting Fall 2024 through the IFS Institute.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to counseling services, I am now a MaMHCA Advanced Certified Clinical Supervisor approved through MaMHCA. This Certification meets requirements as a Clinical Supervisor per AMHCA and MaMHCA chapter regulations. This Certification allows for me to supervise post-graduate individuals seeking LMHC licensure as well as Licensed providers in accordance with the Massachusetts Regulation Code Section 8.03. I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have supervised Bachelor- level mental health workers in a clinical setting. Supervision can be provided via HIPAA compliant telehealth platforms.

As a Supervisor, I can:
-Provide a warm and supportive space to cultivate therapeutic understanding including case conceptualization
-Help develop innate clinical strengths while fostering space to learn and further build upon new clinical skills
-Guide and navigate complex cases through a trauma-informed lens
-Help gain self-advocacy and collaboration skills with other entities including prescribers and schools
-Provide an understanding of various empirically and non-empirically based modalities
-Assist in learning about continuing education options

Fee for Individual Supervision is $130 per one-hour session.

If you are interested in setting up Supervision, please feel free to contact me.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Obstacles and difficulties often occur in life. Seeking guidance from a licensed professional can be a wonderful way of gaining coping skills and a different perspective. Feeling anxious and apprehensive when meeting with a therapist for the first time is understandable. However, once the process begins, that worry usually washes away. My goal is to use empathy, humor, and clinical skills to help you obtain insight, clarity, and courage becoming your most authentic self.

Extensive and personal experience with adoption has allowed for me to possess a clear understanding of the array of issues that can manifest. Use of clinical skills, professionalism, empathy, and humor has resulted in goal-oriented outcomes. Working in the mental health field for over 8 years has provided the ability and opportunity to continuously grow as a professional. Treatment focuses on Adult adoptees as well as families who have adopted. This can include local, national, and international adoptions. I completed the Certificate Program on Adoption through Rutgers University\'s School of Social Work effective April 2022.

Treatment is also available for non-adoptees experiencing: Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, ADHD, Childhood trauma recovery, Family conflict, Grief and bereavement, Relationship issues, Work stress, Phase of life problems, Women\'s issues, and Spirituality difficulties, Adjustment disorders.

Individual and family therapy are offered at this time. I work primarily with teenagers 16 and older, young adults, and adults. My practice is raciallyethicallyspiritually inclusive and I am 🏳️‍🌈 & 🏳️‍⚧️ allied as I have experience working with transgender, gay, bisexual, queer, lesbian, and non-binary clients.
