My Approach to Helping

I provide individual therapy as well as couples and premarital counseling via a telehealth platform.
Sometimes, it is hurts from the past that are negatively affecting our lives. Sometimes, it is the present that has lost its meaning or no longer brings us joy. Sometimes, it's the future we either fear or can't figure out. I support clients in finding hope, healing, and a way forward.
We all need help at certain points in our lives. If you are reading this, I suspect you may be at such a point. You are not alone. And you don't have to do this alone. Just by recognizing that and reaching out for assistance, you are already more than halfway to a better present and a more hopeful future.

Groups I Work With

My therapy practice is influenced by my social work training as well as 30 years as a Christian pastor. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families dealing with relationship issues, personal struggles, trauma, and grief, as well as spiritual crises. My person-centered style of therapy is influenced by family systems theory, developmental psychology, and the concepts of
self-actualization. I use a strengths-based method that combines active listening with unconditional positive regard that is effective with people of all faiths and of no faith. For those who wish to engage their Christian beliefs in the therapy process, I am also skilled at including scripture, prayer, and faith in the healing journey.
