My Approach to Helping
Hello, My name is Marlea Major. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience licensed in Florida and Georgia. My range of experience includes being a veteran, working 20 years as a first responder, counselor for inpatient care clients, Salvation Army working with clients struggling with addictions, and 8 years in the foster care system as a child therapist. I utilize person-centered, psychoeducation, existential, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Christian counseling while focusing on empowering and helping each individual to regain control of their lives and unique situations.
I primarily focus on depression, anxiety, maritalcouples issues, stress reduction, and any other mental, or emotional disturbance. I am a warm, empathetic professional who believes that each person should be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help and realize how strong you are to reach out for assistance. I have had my own unique challenges, trials, and tribulations. I discovered that each one of these situations has helped me to have empathy and understanding for others who also may need assistance during challenging times.
My goals for you are to be empowered to navigate and be successful no matter what challenges you face. For you to understand how amazing you are within the unique and sometimes difficult situations that are being presented in today’s world.
