My Approach to Helping
I’m so happy that you are here. No matter where you have been or what obstacles you have faced, know that you are here for a reason. Welcome! Over the course of our lives, we develop coping mechanisms to protect ourselves from pain and discomfort. These coping mechanisms may have served you well in the past, but now they may be causing more harm than good. Through therapy, we can unearth these defense mechanisms and address the wounds they are attempting to protect. By healing these wounds, you may find you no longer need those old coping strategies.
I use a variety of techniques to address each individual's unique needs and goals. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, family-of-origin issues, attachment wounds, low self-esteem, perfectionism, trauma, and grief. Together, we will explore what has shaped you into the person you are today and bring you closer to the person you want to be.
My hope is that through our work together you will come to recognize your inherent value and worthiness of a fulfilling and meaningful life. I know starting therapy can be daunting but through this process, remind yourself that you deserve to heal. I cannot wait to meet you.
