My Approach to Helping
Maryam is a qualifying registered psychotherapist who graduated from the Toronto Centre for
Psychotherapy and Counselling Education. In addition to her psychotherapeutic training, she
holds a medical degree, which enriches her role as a psychotherapist by providing a
comprehensive understanding of the mind-body connection.
Throughout her career, she has embraced a holistic approach that incorporates a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities. Maryam has served clients from diverse cultural backgrounds over the past few years. During this time, she has addressed a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma, familial conflicts, marital challenges, and life change adjustment. Her unique journey has deepened her understanding and equipped her to provide empathetic and effective support to individuals facing various challenges.
Many find it challenging to confront their past trauma due to feelings of fear or shame, often viewing these memories as a “black box” they’re reluctant to open. My approach is to validate these fears and build a strong relationship grounded in trust and safety. By creating a supportive environment where you won’t be pressured to explore areas you're not ready to face, you’ll feel more comfortable and understood. As you gradually open up about your past at your own pace, you'll be able to connect how these experiences impact your current situation, paving the way for healing and personal growth.
