My Approach to Helping
I work with adults and young adults that desire change in their lives. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, stress and life transitions. I specialize in helping my clients develop the tools needed to manage difficult emotions and create a healthier way of thinking.
In my virtual practice I prominently use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as my treatment approach. I help you develop coping skills to manage emotions that are interfering with your day-to-day life. We simultaneously explore your underlying thoughts to create an understanding of why these emotions exist and how they can be overcome.
More Info About My Practice
I provide teletherapy using a safe and secure web-based video platform that can be easily accessed through a laptop or phone. This allows for flexibility in scheduling to accommodate your busy life and eliminate barriers that may be stopping you from receiving the help you desire.
My Role as a Therapist
I believe that my role as a therapist is to help you identify and achieve your goals. I love using DBT because it encourages the therapeutic process to be more of a conversation instead of a hierarchy. I work hard to earn your trust so that you can feel comfortable opening up in session without any fear of invalidation.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
People ask me why I became a therapist, and to be honest the answer is simple. When I needed help, someone helped me. Since that day I have made it my career to help people, because of how important getting help was for me.
