My Approach to Helping
I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I use a proven type of treatment called Exposure Therapy, a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which research shows is the most effective treatment for all types of anxiety and OCD. Exposure Therapy involves purposely confronting feared triggers and thoughts so we retrain your brain that they are not actually dangerous and the thoughts and situations that lead to anxiety eventually lose their power and no longer provoke anxiety.
I would be a good fit for you if you are looking for clear, straightforward direction on what to do about your anxiety problem. My approach is not traditional talk therapy where we spend most of the time simply talking about the problem; I will show you exactly what to do about it, then we will practice it together and I will help you implement it into your life so it works. If you are going to invest the time and money in therapy with me, I want you to get results and I want you to get them as quickly as possible.
