My Approach to Helping
I'm Megan Richardson, LMHC. My approach to therapy is solution focused and evidence based. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them rediscover their strength and resiliency. Areas of focus include: helping adults navigate life transitions, relationship conflict, stress management, low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.
My approach can be eclectic & collaborative because I like to pull from various approaches to support and guide my client to assure their needs are best matched. I do favor DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.
I work with adults, but have and will see older teenagers. I support individuals, couples, and families experiencing a transition (which include attending college), emotion dysregulation, difficulty coping with stress, anxiety andor depression.
I pride myself on creating a warm, relatable, yet supportive and direct environment and rapport with my clients.
I was always drawn to helping people and I found I was that person that people always confided in. Becoming a therapist was always the career I considered since being in high school. What drives me to do this work is being able to support individuals to help them rediscover their potential and start living a life that feels most comfortable for them. It is so rewarding to see my clients make progress and to be able to cheerlead them on.
Goals are essential to our work together. Together we identify areas of improvements, as well as, desired outcomes to help guide our work together.
