My Approach to Helping

My passion for psychology started when I needed to understand myself at 27 years of age and my journey began. Through the years, I continued to study, work with therapists and PhDs, heal aspects of my own life, and experience profound positive changes for my efforts. I decided to return to school and obtain my degree in the field that I love so I can help others on their journey. I have provided psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and seniors. I have worked with individuals who have health issues and need support. My approach is client-centered, optimistic, and strength-based. I focus on instilling hope in individuals to help them achieve health and wellness, lead a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. I adapt my approach using a mix of techniques for individual-specific goals and challenges. I tailor treatment to meet unique needs and cultural backgrounds; I work collaboratively at your pace to identify and build on strengths to assist your success and empowerment. Trauma, whether it’s from childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, affects our experiences in the present and future. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is one technique I use that has been shown to be very effective for treating different types of trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, and childhood issues. EMDR helps the brain to process and reset, aiding a person in moving forward with a new sense of confidence, self-efficacy, and freedom. I have training in several treatment modalities but specialize in trauma, motivational interviewing, grief and bereavement, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), flash technique, and EMDR. I work with a diverse population, am culturally sensitive, and respect all who walk through my door. I warmly invite you to come in...
