My Approach to Helping

Compassionate, attentive, and knowledgeable. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor practicing in Birmingham, Michigan. I also have my Limited Licensed Counselor and National Certified Counselor Credentials. I have a B.A. in Psychology from Michigan State, and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, where I presented my thesis on decreasing the misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder.

Together, we’ll customize each session to help you effectively achieve your therapeutic goals. Trained in a wide range of evidence-based practices from around the world, I incorporate modalities like EMDR, somatic techniques, CBT, DBT, IFS, ACT, and psychodynamic psychology. My aim is to show you your existing strengths and support you every step of the way.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy can be a profoundly healing experience, offering a gentle, compassionate space where people are truly heard, often for the first time. In therapy, you?re welcomed exactly as you are, with all your struggles, strengths, fears, and hopes. There?s no need to put on a brave face or worry about judgment; a therapist?s role is to support you and walk alongside you as you navigate whatever challenges you?re facing. This can be especially powerful for those who feel alone or misunderstood, as therapy provides a connection that can feel grounding, safe, and affirming.
