My Approach to Helping
It can be scary and difficult to make changes in our lives or relationships. I see therapy as a collaborative relationship where the client is the expert on themselves. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors impacting personal growth and change in the process of therapy. By creating an empowering, safe, and supportive space, I help my clients examine hurtful patterns in relationships and process emotional difficulties, allowing an experience of themselves that can offer hope and motivation for changing their negative self-perceptions, as well as a better ability to respond to life's challenges. I am genuinely interested in and committed to helping my clients build insight into and express their needs with the ultimate goal of helping them form healthier relationships and live the lives they want.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am putting together a closed interpersonal process therapy group for recovery focused women who want to discuss aspects of life without their eating disorders. We will focus on topics including, but not limited to: relationships, friendships, work, school, family, coping, body image, and dealing with emotions in general. Group members will have the opportunity to develop healthier coping skills and more effective interpersonal functioning through support and exposure to processing in the group. This group is meant for women in the recovery process who are motivated and engaged in individual therapy. I will meet with potential group members prior to group to be sure that it is a good fit for the individual and the group. Please contact me with any questions or interest in becoming a member of this group.
