My Approach to Helping
The clients I work with often seek services with the intention of addressing concerns or distress in their lives and relationships, improving their overall mental health or life circumstances, or just having someone to help them process and explore their life experiences. I provide psychotherapy to a broad base of clients, while specializing with older teens and adults. I work people who often struggle with hopelessness, feeling stuck, unmotivated, distracted, or who have difficulty managing stress and low self-esteem. Many of these individuals may also find themselves experiencing relationship concerns, despite their greatest effort. While I use multiple therapeutic modalities that include Psychodynamic, Emotion-Focused, and Humanistic therapy to name a few, I often find the straightforward approach of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to be a helpful and direct method for many concerns. My approach often involves working with the client to establish hope, realize their own concerns and patterns, and identify and pursue goals for improvement.
