My Approach to Helping
Greetings! My name is Michelle Elias LPC, CAC III. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the areas of both mental health and substance abuse. I take a strength based approach when working with clients. I can help clients with a wide variety of challenges they may face in their daily lives. I take an eclectic approach in my therapeutic practice because every one of us has a unique experience with individual needs that are important for me to understand for the best outcome in a therapeutic relationship.
I strive hard to create a comfortable and safe space for my clients to be themselves. It is so important that you feel you can be truly yourself and honest in the counseling process. I tend to be soft spoken, open, honest and direct in our meetings. I will ask if I can provide feedback before doing so in order to foster grow with self-understanding, self-worth and self-acceptance. Once I know you better, I may use humor at times to keep things light and fun. Yes, I said fun. Counseling does not always have to be dark and heavy.
