My Approach to Helping
Accepting New Clients. Virtual sessions only. I like to meet people where they are and help them grow from there. I do an extensive assessment in order to understand their worldview and personality. I collaborate with clients to determine measurable goals and sound treatment plans. Then I use the strengths I have identified help clients reach their goals. I believe we are naturally self-healing. Sometimes that natural process goes awry and we need a guide to help us find our authentic selves.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love being a therapist because many of my clients arrive confused, discouraged, hopeless, and guarded then after a short time in therapy with me they know that someone values them and they no longer have to go it alone. Then I see their fog clear, hearts become courageous, eyes light with hope, and guard lowered. They get their second wind and are energized for the difficult journey ahead. I especially love when clients have successfully completed their work and we contrast the "befores" and "afters." I sometimes think I am more excited than my clients at their success in accomplishing their goals. I am passionate about psychotherapy because it is a process where I can use my professional training, my humanness, and my humanity to help others discover their joy for life.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
I am influenced by systems theories that take into consideration the various roles and contexts in which client are involved. I focus on developing appropriate boundaries, cohesiveness, and structure. I incorporate cognitive behavioral techniques. I am also influenced by evidence-based therapies such as EMDR for working with clients who've experienced trauma.
