My Approach to Helping
Living a full, satisfying, and authentic life is rarely something that comes from an unexamined life in modern times. It’s not easy to understand who we are, what we want and don’t want, and even what is important to us. But it is not impossible and if you are willing to take the plunge into the journey of self-discovery, finding peace, letting go, moving on, finally taking more, or whatever else is holding you back in life or in your way; I am honored to be on the journey with you. Humility and honoring thy self are cornerstones of how I life to work with my clients. I will not judge you, are you willing to do the same?
My work has a heavy focus on mindfulness and I offer a willingness to meet in that process wherever you may be. My work also focuses on personal accountability whether to take ownership of your role in your suffering or if it requires giving yourself a break for once in your life. I also offer nature-based work for those interested.
I have worked at various different levels in the mental health field. I have over 5 years of experience working at the inpatient level working with people struggling primarily with severe mental illness and suicidal thoughts. I have worked as a group recreation therapist at the inpatient level for the last 2 years and also have a year of experience running groups at the outpatient level as well. I have experience working with clients of all ages from childhood to people in their 90’s. I specialize in working with severe mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I also am passionate about men’s work, gender identity issues, and life transitions.
It’s where we have the most resistance that we also have the best breakthroughs and experience the magic on the other side. I’ve been at the bottom and with the help of others and a relentless commitment to myself I have broken through to the magic of the other side, and I keep walking. It is my honor to walk with you.
