My Approach to Helping

In counselling, I focus on understanding each person’s unique experiences and guiding them toward a balanced, peaceful state. I integrate methods like cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and hypnotherapy to support deep, transformative healing. I believe that when we feel safe and understood, our nervous system can shift out of survival mode, which opens the door to profound personal growth.

With talk therapy, I provide a compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors without judgment. Together, we identify patterns that may be causing stress or limiting self-growth. Through this collaborative process, people often uncover new perspectives and solutions to long-standing challenges.

In hypnotherapy, we tap into the subconscious mind, addressing fears, unhelpful habits, or self-beliefs at their roots. This technique is particularly helpful for those seeking to change ingrained behaviors or to access a sense of calm that is often blocked by conscious stressors. Hypnotherapy allows you to explore and shift deeply embedded patterns, helping you to feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions.

I also incorporate EMDR to help with processing past traumas and reducing anxiety. EMDR involves using bilateral stimulation—often through guided eye movements—to help the brain reprocess painful or triggering memories, allowing you to experience them with less emotional intensity. Many people find that EMDR brings relief from symptoms associated with trauma and helps to break cycles of distress, opening the way for healthier emotional responses.

Ultimately, my goal is to empower you with techniques and insights that foster nervous system regulation and a lasting sense of peace. My holistic approach creates a foundation for personal growth, self-acceptance, and a fulfilling, balanced life.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Taking that first step can feel intimidating, but counselling is simply a supportive space to help you gain clarity, find relief, and reconnect with your values. You don?t need to have all the answers, and you don?t need to go through challenges alone. In counselling, we work together to explore what?s on your mind and heart, at your own pace and using the methods that resonate most with you. Whether you?re dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship concerns, or simply want a better understanding of yourself, counselling can offer tools and insights to create a healthier, more balanced life.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy is actually a powerful sign of self-awareness and strength. It takes courage to face challenges, reflect on your emotions, and actively work on your mental health. Far from being a sign of weakness, therapy is a proactive step toward growth, resilience, and understanding. In therapy, you?re choosing to prioritize your well-being and to break patterns that no longer serve you?actions that require inner strength.

Seeking support doesn?t mean something is ?wrong? with you. Everyone has unique experiences, and life?s challenges are a normal part of being human. Therapy is simply a place to explore these experiences with a compassionate guide, learn new tools, and gain deeper insight. In fact, many people who go to therapy find themselves better equipped to handle future challenges, as they build skills for self-reflection, emotional regulation, and personal resilience.
