My Approach to Helping
Monica Lopez is a mental health counselor registered in the state of Colorado. She holds a Master of Science Degree and a Master of Education Specialist Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology and a double major in Business Management from Florida State University. As a member of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), an honor society promoting excellence in counseling, Monica upholds the highest standards in her practice. She employs various techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy.
Monica has provided various mental health services to clients over the past several years. She began her career volunteering at 211 Big Bend, answering crisis hotline calls, including the National Suicide Lifeline. She also volunteered and engaged in research studies focused on suicidal ideation. Additionally, she worked at the counseling center of Tallahassee Community College, offering guidance and support to students. Monica is a bilingual counselor fluent in English and Spanish, enabling her to reach a broader client base.
