My Approach to Helping
I am a fully remote mental health counselor who has gained a variety of counseling experiences with college student athletes, telehealth, crisis stabilization units, and in-home therapy. My counseling specialties include working with adolescents, college students, and athletes focusing on anxiety, depression, mood disorders, school stress, and life transitions.
My counseling approach draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused, and person-centered approaches. I view the client as the expert on themselves and provide a safe space for the client to understand their personal strengths and barriers. I believe it's important to meet the client where they are during sessions to determine the best coping skills to add to their mental toolkit.
