My Approach to Helping

The initial part of the counseling relationship will consist of getting to know each other and building a therapeutic relationship. It may be somewhat uncomfortable to initially share details of your life with someone you are just getting to know but I hope to be able to create a safe space that welcomes honesty and trust. As we continue working together, we will identify different goals and determine the path therapy will take. I will incorporate different techniques and tools that will support your journey through counseling and the goal is to incorporate those tools into your day-to-day living. Some of the modalities or techniques that I use are, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy

More Info About My Practice

Progress towards our goals is not always linear, and that’s ok! It’s part of what makes us beautifully flawed and human- progress goes in every direction and all kinds of paces. It's uniquely your goal and your progress with it, no right or wrong, the value is in the journey and experience that make us learn and grow. I value self-care as it has become one of the priorities, I continue to practice along with learning to balance the multiple roles a wife, mother, and professional has to upkeep. Being that I was raised in the Rio Grande Valley, I have learned the balance of two cultures and I can provide services to clients in both English and Spanish.

Groups I Work With

As a counseling provider, I work with a diverse range of individuals, each facing unique challenges and needs. I help children and adolescents navigate developmental issues while supporting adults through life transitions, stress, and relationship concerns. I also work with couples and families to improve communication and resolve conflicts, and I provide a safe, affirming space for individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community to explore identity and acceptance. Additionally, I support those dealing with substance use conditions, trauma survivors, and people with disabilities, as well as older adults coping with aging-related concerns. I assist veterans and active military personnel with PTSD and reintegration challenges, and I help immigrants and refugees adjust to new cultures and cope with stress. I also work with individuals facing eating issues, anxiety, depression, personality issues, and those in crisis. For pregnant or postpartum individuals, I offer support for mental health during significant life changes. My goal is always to provide tailored, compassionate care that meets the specific needs of each person I work with, whether it's through trauma recovery, coping skills development, or relationship support.
