My Approach to Helping
Nicole Kucera believes in creating a safe, accepting space where clients can truly be themselves without judgment. She sees therapy as a collaborative journey—one that may not always be linear but, with respect, dignity, and support, can lead to meaningful growth and connection. Nicole’s strength-based, client-centered approach invites clients to work together on their goals, emphasizing personal empowerment along the way. With a blend of encouragement, compassion, and a touch of humor, she helps clients tap into their resilience, so they can dream, connect, and thrive.
Nicole holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Social Work and Leadership Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She draws from a range of therapeutic techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy, adapting to each client’s needs.
With over five years in the field, Nicole has worked in diverse settings, bringing a rich background to her practice. Outside of therapy, you might find her exploring Colorado’s trails, diving into a good book, skydiving, playing board games, or tending to her beloved plants. Having recently relocated from Illinois, she’s enjoying the adventure of discovering new places and experiences.
