My Approach to Helping
Though we may not always wish it to be so, we are human before we are anything else. We are human before we are therapists, employees, parents, sons or daughters; and with that being said, we experience challenges and faults. As your individual therapist, I look forward to connecting with you, human to human. This way, you can feel better supported and understood. In 2010 I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Social Work. From there, I joined the North Florida Health Corps where I worked with families and children who experienced domestic violence. I then began to work for the public school system as a truancy social worker. I graduated with my Master's degree in Social Work from Florida State University in 2015, and began working for an AIDS Resource Center as a Medical Case Manager. After doing so for two years, I moved into the field of mental health, providing individual therapy to the LGBTQ+ community. I now work full-time as an Intensive Outpatient Therapist, providing group therapy. My heart is with individual therapy, and I hope to fulfill that passion through our work together. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
