My Approach to Helping
Finding your authentic, genuine self is the key to achieving a sense of well-being even in the most challenging circumstances. The journey toward uncovering your true self will help you achieve a more meaningful, directed life in spite of the challenges you face. I help my clients empower themselves and make decisions that come from their truest inner selves.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Almost everything we do is a matter of perspective, including psychotherapy. A major life change might trigger your decision to seek therapy, and you might have already tried other ways to cope with your challenges. Psychotherapy isn't a source of easy answers, but a process of exploration that helps you uncover your own solutions and answers.
The journey can be painful, because it requires you to explore parts of yourself of which you were previously unaware. I've seen my clients exhibit extraordinary courage in their journeys toward improving their lives. The pursuit of knowledge, accountability, and a better life is a journey of great courage, and one that it is my privilege to witness.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The duration of therapy generally depends on why the client has sought help. My most important task for clients is that they use therapy as a tool to gain enough insight and coping skills to think, feel, and behave in such a way that they feel genuine and authentic. My goal is for you to learn how to find purpose and meaning in any situation and from it, make better choices for yourself. How long it takes for a client to achieve that insight varies. Ultimately the client makes the choice and usually knows when their therapy is complete.
