My Approach to Helping

At Sierra Sunrise Wellness Group, we approach each person as a unique human being with their own set of circumstances, whatever those might be, and we hope to collaborate with you to determine our best course forward. We greatly admire the courage that it takes to reach out and ask for help. We are grateful to be able to care for and sit with those who might be in one of the darkest or most confusing moments of their life. We see creative opportunities to make beneficial changes in the world around us that will carry on for generations to come, long after we have gone. We like to work towards integration of the mind, body, and soul in order for people to become more whole and able to FEEL happiness and joy emanating through their very finger tips. We love working with the whole age range, and many and varied issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and suicidal ideation. Sierra Sunrise Wellness Group is a collection of wellness providers of many varieties who aim to support our community to learn how to feel better, inside and out. We have many approaches including existentialism, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, play therapy, yogameditation classes, wellness workshops, support groups, and more. There is also a fully-certified therapy dog, Rollo, on staff and he is a wonderful comfort!

More Info About My Practice

We accept many insurance panels, and we also are on a sliding fee scale starting at $125 going as low as $75. We do not want for clients to have to worry about the additional stress of finances at a time when they need the support most, and in some cases to accommodate to budgets, we will sometimes arrange to see a client every other week, depending on how acute they are at the time we begin sessions. Our sessions are typically about 45-50 minutes long, unless prior arrangements have been made for a longer session.

These are the steps you can expect to go through with me if you decide you would like to start seeing one of us as your therapist:

1. You will need to call or email our office. We can offer a free phone consultation if you have additional questions or are unsure if we are a good match. We ask for 1-2 business days to return a call or email.

2. Once we have touched base with one another, we will arrange an appointment time. Please let us know what days and times are best for you, and we will do my best to accommodate your scheduling requirements. At this time, the earliest appointment we usually take is 10 am, and the latest is usually 5 pm, Mondays-Thursdays. However, we are in the process of hiring more clinicians and will add more days and times as we expand.

3. We have initial intake forms that we will need you to fill out prior to our first session. We will provide you with these forms electronically, and we can also put them out in our office waiting area before our first scheduled appointment if you would like to come at least 15 minutes early to fill them out in person. We will also provide you with a copy of your "Client Rights and Limits to Confidentiality" to inform you of our HIPAA practices, and we will also get a copy of your driver's license and your insurance card.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

At our facility, we have many different practitioners that specialize in a range of different modalities. We offer traditional mental health services by licensed professionals, in addition to alternative wellness options such as Reiki, yoga, meditation, and more. Our yoga instructors are all trauma-informed, and we offer additional education when we onboard a new clinician or other wellness provider to ensure that our environment continues to feel safe and supportive for those who have experienced trauma. We also specialize in grief, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. We offer support groups and wellness workshops in order to be able to serve more individuals in the community and to create a caring shared space. We also have a practitioner who offers brainspotting as a treatment option.
