My Approach to Helping
I am a Behavioral Analyst, Federal Consultation-Liaison, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. I utilize my skills both here in the U.S. and abroad for the Department of Defense, Veteran's Administration, and in private practice. I obtained my master’s from New York University and completed doctoral studies at Capella University. While I have trained in many behavioral health models, I specialize in Military related PTSD, mood disorders, Suicide and Homicide Treatment Prevention, Relational Conflict, Postpartum Depression, and SexualIntimate Partner Trauma for children and adults. Because of my level of training, I have been nationally recognized as an expert witness in the family and criminal court systems of New York, Virginia, and North Carolina.
I can often participate in behavioral health symposiums throughout the country and advocate for supporting marriage, strengthening single-parent homes, and military and veteran families, educating young parents, and promoting collectivism for the community’s wellbeing. I am a solution-focused, affirming, and open-minded provider that will meet you where you are ready to start. I am known for saying “The village needs us. Let us come together and win." I believe in nurturing families until they are able to stand up for themselves.
I will work with you to create realistically, person center goals that you feel are actually achievable. You are the subject matter expert on how you feel. We will work together to help you create the life changes that you want. Our first session will be spent identifying the experiences, symptoms, thoughts, and feelings you find most problematic in a safe and protective space.
