My Approach to Helping
People enter into therapy for a variety of reasons. They can be as complex as surviving a trauma, or as common as the desire to develop better communication skills. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, asking for help when needed is a sign of strength as you make use of resources that are available to enhance your life. In my office, you will find a safe and supportive environment where you can receive the care that fits your specific needs. Working together, we can move your life in the direction you desire.
More Info About My Practice
I bring a background of extraordinary training and experience to my practice. My knowledge and skill level continue to increase as I attend educational conferences and remain current with professional literature and research. The competencies I have developed as a therapist have proven effective in helping people find the answers and make the changes they need.
My professional history includes many years working with individuals, families and groups to provide therapeutic support related to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, HIV, AIDS, and other chronic or end of life issues. My experience working with health related issues has helped me develop a more comprehensive and integrative approach to the treatment I provide to my clients today.
My background also includes the role of lead clinician in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital settings. I have also mentored and provided clinical supervision to fellow therapists and therapy interns. These experiences have helped me expand my knowledge base to become more proficient in the use of a wide range of counseling approaches.
Apart from everything else, a good rapport between client and psychotherapist is essential for therapy to be effective. I believe the level of personal comfort and ease clients have in my office is a key element to the success of therapy. I make every effort to create a secure and trusting environment for my clients. Working together, we can move your life in the direction you desire.
