My Approach to Helping
Hi, I’m Pam, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is here to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to work through your challenges and concerns.
I use a person-centered, strength-based approach to support you in making your desired changes. My behavioral health background includes case management, vocational case management, and social work for individuals with mental health and substance use diagnoses.
I approach psychotherapy with a person-centered, strength-based approach to support you in making your desired changes. My top modalities are Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
"Ideal client" is someone who would like to create a more satisfying life utilizing the support of therapy to learn the desired skills to achieve their goals.
My communication style approach is with a non-judgemental stance, respectful, and observant while actively listening to your concerns, providing support and validation.
My journey to becoming a therapist began when I was introduced to the behavioral health field in 2005. I worked one-on-one with individuals providing case management care for a decade before I decided to return to college for a degree in social work. I have participated in training for CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, suicide prevention, and how to incorporate nutrition to assist mental health.
The therapeutic goals I have for clients are for them to build a more satisfying life and be there to teach skills, support, and inspire them to continue to move forward.
During the first session, we will explore your reasons for entering therapy and the goals you have for your overall well-being.
