My Approach to Helping
I appreciate helping individuals and couples that just want to live better lives, have deeper relationships, and find more joy in day to day living. Life can be tough. Good therapy offers support, a place to be heard, guidance, and sometimes a place to hear truths that you may not want to hear, but need to hear. I offer a supportive and direct approach to those needing help with sex and relationship issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, and addictions. I also have a special spot in my heart to support those who have dealt with loss, whether recently or many years ago. Therapy is a space to adapt, stretch, and grow.
My work with couples has been influenced by my trainings with couples therapy expert Terry Real (www.terryreal.com) using his Relational Life Therapy model to help couples learn how to go through the natural relational cycles of harmony, disharmony, and repair. I am also a certified sex addiction therapist and a Parnell Institute trained EMDR therapist.
Therapy has been a game changer in my own life and I offer a personal and relational approach in my work with clients. Give yourself the gift of therapy and a place to help you navigate the waves of life and relationships.
I work with all ages, genders, and sexual identities.
More Info About My Practice
The fee for individuals and couples for a 50-minute session is $200. I offer both Zoom video appointments and in person appointments at my office in Danville. I accept payment in credit card and PayPal. You can schedule an initial 50-minute appointment by going to any page of my website and clicking the "schedule appointment" button. www.paulginocchiomft.com.
I serve as an out-of-network provider for insurance companies. Because I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in California, my services qualify for reimbursement under insurance plans that offer outpatient mental health benefits. I will need your insurance information to check on your benefits and file claims through my medical billing company. During our initial call or email, I'll get insurance information from you and check with your provider before booking your appointment.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Why am I so passionate about therapy? Looking back on my own healing journey, I am so grateful to all those who helped me become a functional adult. Individual and couples therapists, a weekly men's group, and 12-step sponsors all played a pivotal role. My personal work has inspired me to help others with issues such as addiction, anxiety, trauma, loss, anger, and marital and relationship issues. I trained with Dr. Patrick Carnes to become a certified sex addiction therapist (www.recoveryzone.com). I trained extensively with master couples therapist Terry Real (author of "Us") and greatly value working with couples to help build trust and communication in their relationships (www.terryreal.com). I am also a Parnell Institute EMDR trained therapist (www.drlaurelparnell.com).
