My Approach to Helping
My approach to healing is completely tailored to the individual. I draw from various trainings and life experiences both personal and professional and I make sure that you are both aware of and comfortable with the plan. I am an active participant in your therapy and I enjoy providing feedback and suggestions as we work through your process. If you are looking for the strong silent type of therapist, I am definitely not her.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Have you ever experienced an event that completely changed your view of the world? Do you feel afraid, alone and unsure of where to turn? Are you experiencing intrusive thoughts, when you least expect it or even nightmares? Trauma has lasting physical and emotional effects that can leave you tired, jumpy, anxious, feeling ashamed, exposed, insecure and wondering who you can trust. Do you find yourself wondering why you haven't found the love you want in your relationships? Do you believe no matter what you say or do for your significant other, it's never the "right thing" or "good enough"?
Together we can explore your experiences in order to help you feel safe and secure again. In my office, with or without your loved one, we can develop new styles of communication that can create the relationship you have always wanted.
I am a big believer in brief therapy tailored to your specific wants and needs. I look forward to meeting you and helping you have the experiences you have been craving!
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is akin to a conductor on a train. You and I are faced with several dark tunnels. You tell me which tunnel you would like to explore and I drive the train. At any point you decide you want to try a different tunnel, we turn around together and try again.
