My Approach to Helping
With over 25 years of experience in addiction and family counseling, I specialize in supporting individuals and families facing co-dependency, relationship challenges, and adjustment issues.
I work extensively with young adults beginning new relationships, middle-aged adults and seniors navigating life transitions, and families addressing attachment and parenting concerns.
I am particularly skilled in providing culturally sensitive guidance to South Asian families, especially Indian women living overseas, drawing on both professional and personal experience with adjustment and addiction-affected relationships.
My credentials include a Master’s in Psychology and addiction treatment training from the Hazelden-Betty Ford Centre, Minnesota, and ICCE Colombo Plan certification. Additionally, communication skills training from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and certification in Health Care Management equip me to address corporate and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) challenges effectively. Currently, I am also conducting research on maternal mental health, focusing on pre- and post-natal depression, as part of my doctoral studies.
My approach is eclectic, centered on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to adapt to each client’s unique needs. I am confident I can support your journey toward positive mental health, offering expertise in managing cross-generational and cross-cultural issues.
I am proficient in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
