My Approach to Helping

At Stone Bridge Counseling Center, therapy is based on psychological principles and techniques that tend to the mind, body, and soul. You will be assisted in establishing therapeutic goals which will partially direct the counseling focus. You will learn how to evaluate your behavior using your goals as your guide.

More Info About My Practice

Therapy at Stone Bridge Counseling Center is based on a variety of modalities with the purpose of getting clients to a place where they can engage more fully in the joy of life with new tools and strategies developed in partnership with the client that are personalized to the client.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Because people are inclined to view life, and difficult situations, through the filter of prior experiences, it can be beneficial for all of us to work through difficulties with someone who is trained to facilitate the therapeutic process and help us discover solutions. Counseling is a gift that a person can give to themselves which will yield many returns. Sometimes those returns may be a saved marriage, the betterment of a relationship, or new skills to implement at work and home as we approach the difficulties that life throws our way.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Generally, I recommend being willing to commit to 12 weekly sessions of counseling. An initial counseling session will help to determine the recommended duration based on a specific situation. Often, people visiting a counselor for the first time expect to see a change in the first or second session, but in reality, the first couple of sessions are dedicated to information gathering and assessment. When you commit to a period of time, you are able to expend energy toward the therapeutic process rather than feeling pressure to "finish".
